Our Customer-Centric Approach
Opes Advisors has designed a firm differently than any other in the mortgage and wealth management industries. We have enhanced the loan origination process and are bringing an entirely new, customer-centric approach to financing a primary residence, second home or investment property.
During loan origination, it is commonplace to gather data and ask the client questions about qualifying for the loan – questions that insure the customer can afford to pay back the bank (the investor). This is an investor-centric approach.
In contrast, Opes Advisors’ process and software goes beyond this necessary analysis to integrate a broader perspective that is customer-centric and addresses what our clients really care about: their plans for retirement, for funding children’s education, for supporting aging parents, and for funding what is important to them in life. Our Education, Our Team of Financial Experts and Opes Advantage
Opes Advisors’ Education Department provides Mortgage Advisors with opportunities to increase their professional knowledge and skill. Course topics include the fundamentals of finance and building wealth, business and sales planning, advisory-based selling, referral-based marketing, sales methodology and more.
This education is made possible by the depth and breadth of expertise at the firm. Our Wealth Management division includes Chartered Financial Analyst®, Certified Financial Planner™ professionals, CDFA™, Wealth and Financial Advisors, and Real Estate Investment Advisor experts. As a Mortgage Advisor with Opes Advisors, this is your team. They are available to assist you with complex situations as you work with clients.
We also educate and train our Mortgage Advisors to use Opes Advantage software. Opes Advantage is our proprietary loan origination software that enables our Mortgage Advisors to conduct real-time, scenario-based planning with clients that enables them to make informed and effective financial decisions.
Our Mortgage Banking Operations
Opes Advisors is a mortgage bank that sells loans both on the secondary and capital markets, providing originators with competitive pricing and leading edge products. Our Mortgage Banking Operations Team is nimble, responsive and continually provides our originators with help and education to adapt to the many changes in products, guidelines, compliance and regulations.
Opes Advisors offers an extensive range of conventional conforming, high-balance, home equity and jumbo loan programs through established relationships with major banks, niche lenders and private investors. Our underwriters are experts in local markets and we are a direct seller servicer to FNMA and fully delegated for FHA /VA loans which means we maintain complete control of the process for fast turn-times and a smooth process.
As one of the leading independent mortgage banks in the jumbo space in the nation, we offer a mix of jumbo products with expanded underwriting criteria, higher LTV options, flexible reserve requirements, competitive ARM pricing, common sense underwriting and ease of closing. We are fully delegated on loan amounts to $1.5 million and offer loans up to $2 million.

Our mortgage offer includes competitively-priced jumbo, conforming, and government loan products in a specialized mortgage banking platform; a local operations team – from underwriting to funding – who understands the nuances of local markets and provides complete sales support to our Mortgage Advisors.
Qualifications for a Mortgage Advisor
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Mortgage Advisor.
- Demonstrated successful sales track record with established relationships in the local Bay Area markets.
- Solid experience working with multiple loan types.
- Superior customer service skills.
- BA/BS degree in business, finance or related field is preferred.
