Location: Los Gatos, CA, San Mateo, CA and Eugene, OR

About Us

Opes Advisors is a premier financial advisory firm specializing in residential mortgage banking and wealth management. We are currently seeking an Underwriter, working in conventional A-paper. This position is located in our Los Gatos, San Mateo, and Eugene, OR branches.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite submitted loan files
• Work in tandem with our Mortgage Advisors to identify the best solutions and rates for our customers
• Review credit reports, applications and appraisals to ensure the accuracy of each, prior to submittal

Requirements

• Experience underwriting A paper loans
• Strong mathematical and computer skills (MS Office, Point, DataTrac, AUS systems)
• Ability to work independently and without direct supervision
• Superior Customer Service Skills
• Excellent credit risk, cash flow and balance sheet analysis skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of mortgage servicing functions
• Solid Experience working with multiple loan types
• Highly competent automated and manual underwriting skills

Qualifications

• Banking/Financial Services background a plus
• 2-3 years working in conventional A-paper
• FHA/VA underwriting experience preferred
