Why combine wealth management and mortgage services?

Real estate is one of the most important assets in the portfolio of a Northern Californian. Traditionally, real estate transactions have been treated as separate entities, without regard for other investments or financial concerns. We combine our wealth management expertise with fundamental strategic planning in all financial domains. By successfully coupling that with residential mortgage banking, Opes provides clients with guidance in positioning all of their assets to develop an overall strategy that is most effective in turning out their financial future.

Are your mortgages more expensive because you provide all of this additional financial help?

No. When obtaining mortgage financing with Opes, our clients have a wealth management team working for them. This comes with no more cost than obtaining a mortgage from a conventional firm. Our Investment Management Division is a separate profit center from our Mortgage Banking Division.  Because of this, our advisors have access to our Chartered Financial Analysts and Certified Financial Planners to make assessments to ensure that the loan structure and associated leverage support our clients' long term financial goals.

As a Mortgage Bank, we underwrite, process and fund all of our loans.  In return for taking on this additional risk, our cost of funds is lower and we are able to remain extremely competitive, efficient, while maintaining a higher level of control and providing access to investment expertise.

Why don't large investment firms approach financial advising this way?

The short answer is that they can't afford to. Dealing directly with the true complexity of an individual financial situation doesn't scale well.  Opes was planned and structured to profitable support our clients' needs.

Financial decisions that were once straightforward are now complicated, with consequences for taxes, interest and fees that can eat into your hard-won wealth. Opes Advisors has the experience, tools and expertise to guide you safely through this complex landscape.

Will you just take care of managing my money?

Opes Advisors is comprised of two separate divisions.  You do not have to be a client of the Mortgage Banking Division to have your assets managed by the Investment Management Division and our Investment Management clients do not need to finance their homes through our Mortgage Banking Division.

At Opes Advisors we help you define your financial goals within parameters appropriate to your situation. We never forget that our objective is to work with you to help you achieve your financial goals; whether it is in financing your home and/or managing your assets.

We believe that you should be an informed consumer of financial advice.  We disclose our fees and make sure that our prescribed strategies are clearly understood and support your goals.
